Nye County Sheriff's Office is investigating an alleged cockfighting operation they say was being used to breed and train birds for fighting.

A post on Facebook says the investigation involved multiple agencies including the Nye County Sheriff's Office, Homeland Security, the Department of Agriculture, and Nye County Animal Control.

Jorge Guzman Torres, Grisel Juarez Diaz and Ignacio Juarez Gomez are facing multiple felony charges related to cockfighting and animal abuse, among others.

Items seized in the operation include cockfighting implements, 11 firearms, 478 birds and more than $60,000 in cash.
