Law enforcement agencies are typically known for serving the public, but a new fundraiser has police literally serving people - their food.
Special Olympics Nevada, in partnership with Texas Roadhouse, are hosting a special Tip-A-Cop fundraiser in hopes of bringing their grand total of funds raised to over $50,000.
The event is happening Wednesday, July 30 from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Texas Roadhouse location at 150 Damonte Ranch Parkway in Reno.
Local law enforcement officers will serve as "celebrity waiters" during the events; tips given to the waiters will be donated to Special Olympics Nevada.
To add to the fun, the event will feature a special appearance by the Washoe County SWAT Team and the Mounted Posse in the parking lot.
