Nearly 3,900 NV Energy customers in north Reno lost power Friday morning after an issue with a pole-mounted transformer caused a widespread outage.
The outage began just before 10:15 a.m. Friday. NV Energy initially said there was no immediate word on a cause or an estimated time for restoration.
In an update later Friday, NV Energy said the outage was caused by an issue with a pole-mounted transformer.
“Our crews have isolated the problem and restored power to nearly all customers in the area,” NV Energy said. “They are continuing repairs and working to restore service to the rest as quickly and safely as possible.”
