An investigation is underway after a wrong-way crash injured a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper on I-80 near downtown Reno on Saturday night.
The crash happened just after 9:15 p.m. on I-80 east, just east of Virginia Street.
NHP says a preliminary investigation shows that the unidentified trooper was heading east when a woman driving a Subaru crashed into the trooper's patrol car.
Both drivers were transported to a local area hospital with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.
NHP says impairment is suspected as a factor in this crash.
The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash.
