Nevada saw nearly 19,000 more active registered voters in October, bringing the statewide total to more than 2.1 million, according to the latest voter registration numbers.

Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar reported 18,774 additional active registered voters compared to September, a 0.90% increase. Nevada had 2,103,151 active registered voters at the end of October.

Nonpartisan voters made up the largest share of active registrations, with 813,713, or 38.69% of the statewide total.

Democrats accounted for 586,192 active voters, or 27.87%, while Republicans totaled 574,087, or 27.30%.

The remaining active registrations included 84,363 members of the Independent American Party, 13,728 Libertarians and 31,068 members of other minor political parties.

Democratic registrations saw the largest increase among the major political groups, adding 10,727 active voters, or 1.86%, during October. Nonpartisan registrations increased by 3,949, while Republicans added 3,009.

The Secretary of State's Office also reported 405,857 inactive registered voters statewide.

An inactive voter is still legally eligible to vote but has been flagged through the state's voter registration list maintenance process. These voters do not receive mail-in ballots but remain on the voter rolls for two federal general election cycles and are still eligible to vote.

A voter can be marked inactive when a county sends a notice asking them to confirm their registered address and does not receive a response.

If a voter does not respond to the notice and does not vote in two consecutive federal general elections, their registration may be canceled.
