Truckee Bagel Company will close its Midtown Reno location on July 12, while continuing to serve customers at its longtime Galena shop located at 18130 Wedge Parkway in South Reno.
The company announced the closure on its website and social media, citing a combination of challenges and appreciation after nearly a decade of operating in Midtown.
The Midtown shop opened in 2015 and was voted Reno’s Best Bagel seven years in a row, according to the announcement.
“As we reflect on our time in Midtown, we are grateful to our incredible customers who showed up for us, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” the statement read.
Truckee Bagel’s Midtown team continued operating through multiple disruptions, including construction on South Virginia Street, the COVID-19 pandemic, economic uncertainty, and the labor shortage of 2021.
The shop sold more than 100,000 bagels and catered events throughout northern Nevada and northeastern California.
The company also noted community donations to groups including the Reno Rodeo Association, Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, and Washoe County Schools.
While the Midtown location will close, Truckee Bagel will continue operations at its Galena store, located in the Raley’s shopping center off Mt. Rose Highway, which celebrates 25 years in 2025.
“We hope you’ll come to see us there… for more of Reno’s Best Bagels,” the company said.
