Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue crews with assistance from Sparks Fire stopped forward progress of a brush fire that was burning near homes in Sun Valley Sunday afternoon.
It was first reported just before 3 p.m. on Quartz Lane just east of Flinn Drive. Crews were initially responding to a report of an explosion heard in the area.
Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue tell us a quarter of an acre was burned before crews were able to stop the spread.
No homes were damaged and there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.Â
