The Carson City Sheriff's Office confirmed one person died following a shooting outside of a bar in Carson City, near Telegraph and North Carson Streets.

The Sheriff's Office got the call about the incident at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Just before 10:30 p.m., a man called 911 saying he was involved in a shooting. The suspect had originally left the scene, but detectives responded immediately and the Sheriff's Office took him into custody.

Deputies found a 46-year-old man in the street outside of the bar with multiple gunshot wounds. He died on scene.

Sheriff Furlong said the initial investigation shows that two people had an argument inside the bar, then exited the building. That's when the Sheriff's Office says the suspect shot the victim multiple times.

Nobody else was hurt in the incident, and there is no threat to the public, according to the Sheriff.

This is being investigated as a homicide. Anyone who may have more information is asked to contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office at 775-887-2677.
