Two suspects are in custody after the Washoe County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shots fired in a congested area of Sun Valley.
Around 7 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to the dirt extension of Chimney Road following reports of individuals shooting in the area.
RAVEN helicopter and HAWK drone teams located a blue SUV occupied by several individuals shooting guns.Â
While attempted a traffic stop on the car, one suspect jumped out and ran away. The SUV then drove away at a high rate of speed.
RAVEN followed the fleeing vehicle, providing location updates to deputies on the ground.
A short time later, another suspect jumped out of the vehicle and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.Â
The SUV was stopped on the southbound Golden Valley on-ramp, and the driver, 19-year-old Miguel Gonzalez Martinez, was taken into custody on the following charges:Â
- Felony eluding
- Driving under the influence of drugs
- Possession of a firearm while under the influence
- Discharging a firearm in or upon a public thoroughfare
The other suspect, taken into custody following the foot pursuit, was 18-year-old Itztli Gonzalez-Romano. He faces the following charges:Â
- Obstructing and resisting a public officer
- Unlawful discharge of a firearm
