A woman died after a shooting during a domestic dispute early Thursday morning in Lovelock, according to Nevada State Police.

The Nevada State Police Investigation Division responded at about 12:22 a.m. on Thursday to a request for investigative assistance from the Lovelock Police Department regarding a shooting on 8th Street.

Investigators said a domestic dispute occurred at a home, resulting in a shooting in which an adult woman was struck by gunfire. The woman was taken to an area hospital for emergency medical treatment and later died from her injuries.

Troopers and assisting local law enforcement officers later located 22-year-old Jesse James Baker near Interstate 80 east of Lovelock. He was arrested and booked into the Pershing County Jail.

Authorities said Baker faces multiple charges, including open murder, domestic battery with the use of a deadly weapon and additional firearms-related offenses.

The investigation remains active, though authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the community. No additional information was released.
