Looks like winter sports season has officially started, at least for one local black bear, who casually wandered across the brightly lit ice rink at Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe.
According to an online post from Visit Heavenly Village Lake Tahoe, the bear made its way onto the rink, seemingly ignoring or "bearly reading" the “no skating without skates” sign.
The rink is a popular outdoor attraction during the winter season, and wildlife sightings are not uncommon in the area. Visitors are reminded to keep a safe distance from bears, secure food and trash, and treat such encounters with caution.
