Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful is hosting its annual Truckee River Cleanup event on Saturday, September 21 - and they need your help.
The event takes place throughout the Truckee River Watershed, and has over 20 different cleanup sites from Verdi through to Wadsworth.
"With the Truckee River flow getting lighter, more trash is being exposed," said Darcy Phillips, KTMB’s Executive Director.
"KTMB's Truckee River Clean-up volunteers help address this issue by picking up trash and other large items along the river, along with stenciling storm drains, and pulling invasive weeds. All of which helps keep our drinking water and recreational areas clean."
Volunteers are still needed to help at these sites - you can sign up to volunteer at the Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful website.
There will be an appreciation picnic for volunteers hosted by KTMB after the clean-up with food, drinks, games and prizes.
