The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is announcing a major change to its search and rescue operations.
Officials say the Hasty Team, Specialized Vehicle Unit, and the Legacy WCSAR Team have now merged into one unified organization, operating under the Washoe County Search and Rescue name.
The Sheriff's Office says the goal is to streamline response and combine skills like technical rope rescues, rapid response, and off-road extraction.
Officials say the new structure is designed to serve the community more quickly and efficiently, while maintaining its core mission.
