A suspect who was arrested in Winnemucca in October on charges of sexually assaulting a juvenile was recently arrested again, while he was in custody of the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Detention Center.
He was arrested on charges involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
29-year-old Giovani Diaz of Winnemucca was arrested on new charges after a months-long investigation by the Winnemucca Police Department, the department said in a release.
While conducting a search warrant, investigators seized multiple digital devices for forensic examination.
A digital forensics analysis, completed by the Nevada State Police Major Crimes Division, confirmed the presence of illicit materials.
Search warrants for related online accounts revealed an additional substantial volume of CSAM images and videos.
Diaz has been charged with crimes including 22 counts of use or permit minor under age of 14 to produce pornography, nine counts of promote sexual performance of minor under age 14, 10 counts of use of internet to control visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of person under 16 years of age, and one count of possession of visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of person under 16 years of age.
His bail has been set at $7,870,000 cash or bond.
