ORIGINAL STORY – February 19:

Tell us how you, your family, friends, co-workers, and even your animal companions are having fun in the winter weather.

Northern Nevada and surrounding California regions have seen several days of heavy snow, leading to closures of schools, businesses, and government offices.

With snow piling up, 2 News Nevada crews have taken opportunities to get outside and explore winter activities. Now we’re asking locals: what are you and your family doing in the snow?

Whether you’re having a snowball fight, making snow angels, skiing, sledding, or enjoying any other winter activity, 2 News Nevada wants to see your photos. Send them to producers@KTVN.com and let us know how you’d like to be credited. We’ll add them to a gallery and may even feature them on our newscasts.

We want to highlight all the ways communities are enjoying the snow, from skiing and sledding to neighborhood snowman contests. Your photos could appear in our gallery and possibly on air, showing how people across the region are making the most of the winter weather.

While we’re highlighting the fun, we also want to remind everyone to use caution when walking, driving, or participating in outdoor activities, as icy conditions remain in many areas. Authorities say travel has been slowed or temporarily halted in some locations, and drivers should exercise care on snow-covered roads.

Anyone heading into the mountains, Sierra, or backcountry should check conditions before traveling. Avalanche warnings are in effect in some areas, and conditions remain hazardous.

Schools and businesses throughout the region continue to monitor conditions, and authorities encourage residents to stay informed as additional snow is expected this week.
