Gabriel Lara Calzada

A man was convicted of driving under the influence in connection to a hit-&-run crash that happened in September of last year.

The Sparks City Attorney's Office says Gabriel Lara Calzada was also convicted of obstructing a public officer and for not stopping at the scene of the crash on September 8th.

Sparks Police say Calzada was arrested after he crashed into a parked car, removed the license plates from his own car and then tried to run from the scene.

Police say witnesses were able to hold him until officers arrived.

Calzada faces 180 days in the Washoe County Jail.
