Police say a man shot last week in South Lake Tahoe has now died of his injuries. 

Police say 41-year-old Dennis Crowe had ties to the South Lake Tahoe. 

The shooting happened before 6 a.m. on July 16th on Eloise Avenue.

The suspect in this case, Christopher Guzman, is still in custody at the El Dorado County Jail. He is being charged with homicide among other crimes and is currently awaiting arraignment.

Update, 5:30 p.m., July 16: 

Around 6 a.m. on July 16, South Lake Tahoe police received a call regarding a shooting near Eloise Avenue.

When they arrived, police say they found a 32-year-old man who had injuries from blunt force trauma to his head.

He was transported to a hospital via ambulance and has been released.

They also found a 41-year-old man who they say had multiple gunshot wounds. He was flown to a hospital in Reno and is in critical condition.

Police say they arrested 28-year-old Christopher Guzman, who faces two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in the El Dorado County Jail without bail.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing, but police say there is no risk to the public.

South Lake Tahoe Police are investigating a shooting that happened near Eloise Avenue and Tahoe Keys Blvd. early Tuesday morning. 

The shooting happened just before 6 a.m. 

Police say, "there's no safety risk to the public, everybody involved is accounted for and nobody is outstanding." 

They add, "information is extremely limited at the moment as we are actively investigating this incident" but will release more information at a later time.Â
