Jean Smart wins her fifth best actress award in a comedy for the final season of “Hacks” at the 78th Emmy Awards. No actor has ever won an Emmy every year for a series lasting more than three seasons. Smart, 75, has won eight Emmys overall. “Hacks” was the top nominee among comedies, but “Widow's Bay” poses a challenge. Kate O'Flynn, its breakout star, wins best supporting actress in a comedy. Matthew Rhys wins best actor in a limited series for “The Beast in Me.” Allison Janney surprises by winning best supporting actress in a drama over four nominees from “The Pitt.”
