Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have entered the war in the Middle East by claiming it launched a missile toward Israel. The Israeli military said Saturday it intercepted the projectile. The Houthis' entry could threaten another important global shipping lane in the region. The monthlong war erupted after the United States and Israel attacked Iran, which retaliated with strikes against Israel and neighboring Gulf Arab states. Pakistan says Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt will send their top diplomats to Islamabad for talks aimed at ending the war. But Iran's foreign minister expressed skepticism about diplomatic efforts and accused the U.S. of being “contradictory.”
