California's attorney general alleges that Amazon uses its market power to pressure vendors like Levi Strauss and retailers like Walmart to raise prices on their websites. Attorney General Rob Bonta said Monday he is seeking a court order to stop the practice. He says Californians should be protected from illegal price fixing, especially when affordability feels out of reach. Amazon denies the allegations and calls them a distraction. This is part of a 2022 lawsuit against Amazon that is going to trial next year. A hearing on whether to grant Bonta's request for a court order is in July.
