CORRECTION Hong Kong Tung Chee-hwa Funeral

Hong Kong has held a state funeral for the city's first post-colonial leader, Tung Chee-hwa. Tung, a shipping magnate and chief executive from 1997 to 2005. He died on Septrmber 8 at the age of 89. His casket was draped in a Chinese flag as it was brought out of the funeral home on Sunday. During his tenure, he faced numerous challenges, including the Asian financial crisis, the SARS epidemic, and public protests over a proposed anti-treason law. After stepping down, Tung was elected vice chairman of China's top political advisory body. He was honored in 2019 for his contributions to the country.
