U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed are spending the final hours of Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary in settings that reflect their starkly different campaigns. In Detroit, El-Sayed posed Monday for photos and participated in interviews with content creators at a backyard pool party before a final rally with supporters. Stevens appeared alongside Michigan Democratic officials in the state's west side. The race has become one of the clearest tests yet of where Democratic voters want their party to go. El-Sayed is a progressive while Stevens is backed by establishment leaders. Tuesday's winner faces Republican Mike Rogers in November for an open seat Democrats probably need to hold to take control of the Senate.
