Multiple flights in Europe have been targeted by bomb threats, causing emergency landings and military escorts. More than a dozen flights from cities like Copenhagen, Dublin and Madrid were affected Thursday. Most were diverted for emergency landings, but some landed safely at their destinations. Inspections have not found any hazardous materials. The threats come amid increased geopolitical tensions and other disruptions. A flight from Dublin to Rome was diverted to a French military base, while Italian jets escorted a Finnair flight from Helsinki to Rome. Authorities have warned that hybrid threats are on the rise.
