Immigration Military Spouse Deported

The wife of an active-duty U.S. soldier has been deported to her native Honduras in the latest deportation of a spouse or parent of an active-duty U.S. military service member under the Trump administration's immigration crackdown. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security confirmed Cristy Maryori Villafranca-Trejo was deported Monday. Her husband, Army Sgt. Hedar Leonel Turcios Juarez, said he's struggling to fulfill his military duties while caring for his 6-year-old daughter without his wife. The Associated Press has found more than 50 cases of immediate family members of U.S. troops being placed in federal immigration custody after the administration rollback of protections for military families.
