Authorities have forcibly transferred activist Sonam Wangchuk to a hospital in New Delhi after his health deteriorated during a 20-day hunger strike. The strike is part of the Cockroach Janta Party movement for education reform. Wangchuk and others demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over leaked exam papers. The movement also seeks reforms to the exam system and compensation for families affected by related suicides. Police say Wangchuk's hospitalization followed medical advice and a court directive. The founder of the Cockroach Party, Abhijeet Dipke, announced he would also begin a hunger strike.
