Indiana public safety officials say at least seven people have died during days of heavy rain and historic flooding in the state. The state Department of Homeland Security said Sunday that a 4-year-old boy, three men and three women died. Indianapolis officials said flooding from the White River peaked early Sunday, and began receding. The city reopened floodgates Sunday but urged residents to take caution returning to damaged neighborhoods. The National Weather Service also warned that more storms were expected to pass through central and southern Indiana later Sunday, bringing the potential for heavy rain, flash flooding and damaging winds.
