A defense lawyer for the Massachusetts mother who killed her three young children is questioning her psychiatrist's expertise, prescribing decisions and overall treatment. In court Monday, Lindsay Clancy's attorney sought to suggest the mental healthcare system had failed his client in the months before the killings in 2023. He criticized the psychiatrist for using brief video appointments and prescribing various medications despite Clancy's concerns. Clancy has pleaded not guilty to murder charges, saying she heard voices telling her to harm her children. Prosecutors argue she is an intentional killer. Clancy's attorneys say she sought help for bipolar disorder and postpregnancy psychosis but her condition worsened. If convicted, she faces life in prison without parole.
