Chancellor Friedrich Merz has urged Germany to stay united after a deadly attack near Berlin's Pride festival. On Saturday, a suspect drove a van into a crowd and then stabbed others with a machete. Authorities believe it was an Islamic extremist terror attack. The suspect, Abdul Ballout, remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt says the suspect has ties to Islamic extremism. The attack left one person dead and 29 hurt. Berlin's Pride festival, one of Europe's largest LGBTQ+ events, was closed down early. Security measures at future events may be reviewed.
