A bus caught fire in a Swiss town and police say at least six people were killed. Police spokesperson Frederic Papaux of the Fribourg canton said an unspecified “voluntary act” could have caused the fire Tuesday evening in the town of Kerzers, west of Bern, the capital. The regional government said rescuers responding to the fire found the vehicle engulfed in flames. Three severely injured people were taken to hospitals, and two other people were treated at the scene.
A man who doused himself in a flammable substance and set his body on fire killing himself and five others aboard a bus in Switzerland had previously been reported missing by his family and didn't appear to have any terror-related motive. Five people were also injured in the fire late Tuesday in the town of Kerzers. Police had previous knowledge of the Swiss man before Wednesday in a medical context rather than a criminal one. That's according to the regional attorney general. The man is believed to be one of the deceased. But identification of the bodies is pending.
