President Donald Trump has signed a proclamation that he says will prevent future changes to the Oval Office and Cabinet Room as he has redesigned them. He told reporters Thursday that the spaces will become “a national monument” that no one can change — though proclamations can in fact be reversed. Trump’s proclamation comes two days after voters threw dozens of Republicans out of office, delivering control of Congress to Democrats. It’s also the third day this week that the president delivered remarks fixated on his pet projects in Washington.
