After receiving a tip, the Elko Police Department were able to find and arrest a duo who were allegedly selling drugs.
On March 16 just after midnight, a search warrant was executed at a house on 13th Street in Elko. Officers received information via a tip that drugs were being sold out of the house, and that a parole violator was at the house as well.
After a search of the house, 55-year old David Dearing of Elko and 36-year old Sharnae Dudley, also of Elko, were taken into custody and booked into the Elko County Jail without bail on warrants and drug-related charges.
Regarding the timing of the bust, officials say that since the house was close to Elko High School, investigators wanted to make sure that kids that attend the school wouldn't be affected.
If the pair are convicted, there may be a sentencing enhancement for selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a school.
An investigation is ongoing.
The Elko Police Department says that if you have any information concerning the sale or use of illicit drugs, to contact the Elko Dispatch non-emergency line at (775) 777-7300 or call Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
