Nine out of 15 businesses failed an alcohol compliance check conducted Wednesday and served or sold alcohol to underaged volunteers.

Businesses that passed and did not serve alcohol to an underage volunteer:

  1. The Hideout Lounge- 240 Park St
  2. Sneakers Bar & Grill- 3923 S McCarran Blvd
  3. Flowing Tide Pub- 4690 McCarran Blvd
  4. Coach’s Grill & Sports Bar- 4050 S McCarran Blvd
  5. The Elbow Room- 2002 Victorian Ave
  6. Copenhagen Bar- 2140 Prater Way

Businesses that failed and served alcohol to an underage volunteer:

  1. Quickie Mart Inc- 3930 Spring Dr.
  2. El Paso Market & Liquor- 160 E Grove St
  3. Midtown Liquor & Food Market- 895 S Virginia St
  4. G Street Saloon- 2285 G St.
  5. The Local- 404 N McCarran Blvd
  6. Huntsman Tavern- 880 Holman Way
  7. Vassar Lounge- 1545 Vassar St.
  8. Woodrow’s Taproom- 4755 N. Virginia St
  9. Legend’s Grill Sports & Spirits- 6015 S. Virginia St.

The operation was conducted in partnership with Join Together Northern Nevada (JTNN), a non-profit community organization.

During the operation, an 18-, 19-, and 20-year-old volunteers were used to check 15 businesses. In each instance, the volunteer provided their actual state issued identification, if they were asked for it, clearly identifying them as underage patrons.
