The Northbound U.S. 395 ramps to Dandini Boulevard will reopen Thursday morning, September 5.
The northbound ramps of Dandini Boulevard Exit 71 have been closed since July 7, while construction crews realigned and widened the ramp.Â
Lanes will be shifted on northbound U.S. 395, and drivers will have to use the right lane to access Dandini Boulevard.Â
The reopening of the Dandini Boulevard ramps is followed by an extended closure of the U.S. 395 exits in Panther Valley, as NDOT construction crews continue to widen and improve the highway.Â
NDOT says they will continue to make project improvements to increase traffic mobility and safety on the heavily-traveled sections of the highway.
ORIGINAL STORY - JULY 7:
As the off-ramp is widened, the northbound U.S. 395 Dandini Boulevard exit will be closed for an extended period and traffic changes will be implemented. Â
The closure is part of the Nevada Department of Transportation's (NDOT) continuing multi-year project to widen and repave approximately four miles of U.S 395 between North McCarran Boulevard and Golden Valley Road to improve the highway.Â
The northbound U.S 395 on and off-ramps to Dandini Boulevard will be closed 24 hours, seven days a week beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, July 7 through mid-September.Â
The off-ramp from U.S 395 will be widened, slightly realigned and repaved during this project.
NDOT says they will heighten the ramp and realign where the off-ramp enters onto Dandini Boulevard.Â
The Dandini and Parr Boulevard bridge over U.S. 395 will remain open.
A detour will be available on North Virginia Street (exit 72) to Parr Boulevard.Â
NDOT says southbound U.S 395 ramps to Parr Boulevard will stay open during daytime hours, with periodic overnight ramp closures between the hours of 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.Â
NDOT would like to remind drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time for the following traffic changes, there will be 24-hour, seven-day-a-week lane shifts and speed reductions in addition to lane and ramp closures:Â
- Northbound U.S. 395 continues to be reduced to two lanes 24/7 from just north of Oddie Boulevard to Golden Valley Road through mid-2025 as sections of the highway and bridges are removed and reconstructed, retaining walls built and other improvements made.
- Highway lanes are slightly reduced in width and will be shifted.
- Speeds are reduced to 55 mph 24/7 through the work zones.
- Additional overnight lane closures continue, with highway lanes reduced to a minimum of one lane in each direction:
- Northbound U.S. 395, lanes will be reduced between 8 p.m. and 11 a.m.
- Southbound U.S. 395, lanes will be reduced between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Intermittent ramp closures will take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Sunday evenings through Saturday mornings. Detour routes will be marked.
- The Virginia Street on-ramp to southbound U.S. 395 in Panther Valley will be closed through late 2024.
- The construction schedule is weather-permitting and is subject to change.
In the coming months, NDOT advises drivers to anticipate additional major construction impacts, including extended closure of North Virginia Street access to northbound U.S. 395 for bridge construction.
