This Presidents Day meant a day off school and work for many people.
So, a lot of them took the opportunity to have a fun snow day up in the mountains, including Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe.
Some skiers said that when you get a day off from school, you've got to take advantage of the moment and hit the powder with your best buds.Â
"It makes you feel amazing," said Ollie Johnson, skier. "It's like the best time of my life. It's crazy."
"Oh, it means a lot," said Tyler Hendrick, skier. "It's probably nothing else I would rather do."
Some said there was no better way than to shred the gnar.
"Definitely the powder. Just going full speed, plowing through the snow. It's the best time ever."
Some said getting the day off from school was awesome.Â
"Definitely needed because school sucks," said Gavin Limpert, skier, 12. "It feels nice."
"Great you know," said Levi Lubra, skier, 12. "I'm hanging with all my friends, not doing the schoolwork. It's the life."
For these boys, they said that being up in the mountain together was a lot of fun, as they're each other's biggest cheerleaders.
"I just landed my first 360 last run," Lubra said.
"He just hit his first three so we're just like hyping each other up for stuff," Limpert said.
If one falls, they make sure to pick each other back up.
"Like my friend, he totally ate it on the last run," Lubra said. "We were laughing at first and then we saw he actually kind of hurt himself so then we went down and helped him out."
For those who weren't seeking crazy adrenaline, some set out just about ten minutes down the road from the resort, to enjoy some sledding.
One couple came from the Bay Area, to get a chance to play in the snow, since they don't see too much of it.
"We're doing well," said Katrina Fagaragan, Bay Area resident. "We were a little nervous about coming out here because of the reports but we're glad we did."
"It's really refreshing you know," said Darrell Fagaragan, Bay Area resident. "We love being outdoors and like I said we don't get this here so it's nice to drive four hours away and you know frolic and you know be out in nature."
While the reality of going back to daily routine is setting in for those folks, they said they such an incredible day and tons of fun.
