WRITE A BRIEF (TWO TO THREE SENTENCES) SUMMARY OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD ENABLE YOU TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THIS OFFICE:
I have been on the bench in judicial roles for over 10 years. I served as Chief Judge of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribal Court before being appointed Probate Commissioner in Washoe County in 2019, where I have presided over more than 7,000 estate and trust cases involving more than 10,000 hearings. Before that, I operated a successful a civil law practice in Reno involving business transactions and civil litigation.
WHAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY IF ELECTED?
If elected, I promise that the people of Washoe County will have a judge who serves the people, not just the powerful. Our community deserves judges who are experienced, thoughtful, passionate about this work, and dedicated to efficient and effective justice.
BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY: WHAT MAKES AN EFFECTIVE JUDGE?
A thoughtful judge makes sure that each person enters the courtroom knowing that the judge has not already decided the case, and leaves the courtroom knowing exactly why the decision was made. That requires a judge that can listen to each party, and communicate the law and how it applies to the facts of each case.
IN ONE SENTENCE: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING VOTERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I have the knowledge, skills, and energy to be a judge Washoe County deserves, and with the help of our community I want to contribute to the development of our court for years to come.
YES OR NO: WILL YOU ACCEPT THE RESULTS OF THIS ELECTION, WHETHER YOU WIN OR LOSE?
Yes
