A Reno man was sentenced to life in prison and will be eligible for parole after 20 years.

27-year-old Bill Ellis was arrested in December after attacking two women at local casinos.

In the first attack, Ellis entered an employee area and cornered a 63-year-old woman.

He aggressively groped her before two other employees arrived.

The casino provided Reno Police with surveillance video of the attack.

About an hour later, Ellis went to a different casino and entered the women's restroom.

A woman had seen Ellis enter but believed he had left, so entered the restroom.

After she entered the stall, Ellis slid underneath the door and held a knife to the woman's neck while threatening to stab her. He then began kissing her and attempted to perform other sexual acts.

The woman was able to convince Ellis to leave the restroom by inviting him to her hotel room. As they were on an escalator, Ellis threw the woman to the ground and tried to sexually assault her again.

A passerby heard the woman screaming and came to help.

Later that day, police found Ellis and arrested him.

He pleaded guilty to battery with intent to commit sexual assault against an older person, and attempted sexual assault with a deadly weapon.
