The Nevada State Police is releasing details about a fatal crash that happened last week in Mineral County.

It happened on Friday, February 20, on U.S. 95 just before 8:20 p.m., about 44 miles south of Hawthorne, according to a release from NSP.

Investigators determined that a white Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck was heading north while a red Freightliner commercial motor vehicle and its trailer were heading south.

The pickup did not maintain its lane, crossing the centerline and colliding with the Freightliner.

The driver of the Chevy, identified as 52-year-old David Clardy of Burton, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the crash is being conducted by the Nevada Highway Patrol, Major Incident Reconstruction Team.
