On Wednesday Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve and a senior White House official will tour sites around northern Nevada where American Rescue Plan Act funds have been used.
Schieve will tour four sites, including an affordable housing project, with Senior Advisor to the President and Director of Government Affairs for the White House Tom Perez, according to a release from the City of Reno.
President Joe Biden signed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act in March of 2021 to aid public health and economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The City of Reno received approximately $51.5 million in State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds from the legislation.
In March of 2022, the Reno City Council approved $9 million in ARPA funds to go toward two affordable housing projects including Dick Scott Manor, a 12-unit residential initiative that provides housing for low-income, extremely low-income, and unhoused military Veterans.
