Reno-Tahoe International Airport is expecting a very busy weekend for the Memorial Day holiday.
They're anticipating seeing about 15,000 to 16,000 passengers coming through the airport on peak travel days... which they told us is almost every day of the weekend.
Compared to Memorial Day last year in 2025, they're expecting about the same number of passengers coming through the airport.
And if you are one of those passengers, there are things you can do to make your travel day easier and less stressful. Above all else, they recommend planning ahead, especially when passengers are coming from all over the nation.
Jena Esposito, the manager of public affairs for the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority, says, "Summer is a busy travel season, and RNO does have more non-stop seasonal flight options that we're bringing to travelers, so we have non-stop flights coming from Minneapolis, Dallas, and other destinations through the summer."
She also mentions that a lot of work is put into the airport and staff in order to get ready for the influx of travel.
"RNO is preparing for a busy Memorial Day weekend. We also want to ensure every traveler is safe and airport operations are flowing well, and we encourage travelers to get here early, about two hours before their flight, just to make sure they have ample time to find their way, get their bags checked, and get through security screenings."
She mentions that parking can be tough at the airport and recommends making a reservation. You can make a reservation by clicking the link here.
The airport says they're expecting 15 to 16 thousand passengers to come through the airport this weekend.
