The Republican National Committee, Trump Campaign, and Nevada Republican Party have filed a lawsuit challenging Nevada's acceptance of mail ballots up to four days after Election Day.
"What we are simply asking in this lawsuit is to ensure that all ballots received via mail-in voting up to election day are, of course, counted, but any ballot received after election day is not counted," said Trump Campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The DNC has requested the dismissal of the RNC lawsuit by submitting an amicus brief to a Las Vegas district judge.
"This is another meritless claim by Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans nationally and in Nevada to undermine the will and the vote of every single Nevadan. If you are a teacher, postmark your vote on election day. If you're one of the 1.4 million service members mailing in their vote on election day, you deserve to have your vote counted, but Donald Trump doesn't think so," said Biden-Harris Campaign Senior Spokesperson Kevin Munoz.
In March, the RNC sued Nevada, saying the state has several counties with more registered voters than eligible voters.
Secretary of State Rebuffs RNC Lawsuit over Voter Rolls:
"Nevada has universal mail-in voting and no requirement for voter ID, which creates a system ripe for fraud," said Leavitt.
On one side, Republicans argue that implementing voter IDs and stricter deadlines would bolster public confidence in elections.
"So voters can have confidence that their ballot will not only be cast and counted ahead of the election, but it's going to matter, and it's not going to be overtaken by fraudulent votes," said Leavitt.

Conversely, Democrats call these legal challenges 'anti-voting' lawsuits and advocate for increasing participation in the democratic process rather than placing additional barriers.
Nineteen states, including Nevada, allow ballots to be tallied if they’re received after Election Day.
The RNC currently has 83 fair election lawsuits in 25 states.
