Some of us remember the days of getting up early in the morning to get in line for stores on Black Friday, but things have changed a lot over the years.
Many were out and about working off the extra calories from the Thanksgiving feast for Black Friday, and there are many reasons why folks want to hit the mall.
"Go have a cocktail while my wife shops," said Rick Creamer, shopper.
"The sales," said Mekeia Williams, shopper. "I mean there are so many sales and you can buy one get one free and they still have a lot of stuff off."
"I do love coming here," said Aidan Wilkerson, shopper. "Like the deals are amazing not even just for black Friday. They have a lot of variety here like I went to Zumiez a little bit ago and just came back from Scheels so there's a lot of cool stuff here."
Most shopper's mission for the holiday is to secure deals and presents for Christmas, but some say that time with friends and family makes the experience that much sweeter.
"We have a good time," Creamer said. "Like I said we come up here for Thanksgiving every year and this is our ritual we come here on Fridays and wander around all day and have a good time."
Some say it's nice to have some alone time to get the goods.
"I feel like you can just kind of do whatever, like you don't have anyone else be like hey lets go to this shop you can kind of just go to exactly what you want, but that's not always a great thing sometimes you can go into a different shop you wouldn't normally go to and find some new stuff," Wilkerson said.
While there were still a lot of people shopping at the mall today, some say the hype around Black Friday is not what it used to be.
"This is basically one of my first times doing Black Friday shopping and I expected it to be a lot more and it's honestly pretty chill here," Wilkerson said.
"It's not as chaotic," Williams said. "The lines are not extremely long like they used to be it's dimmed down just a bit."
"The internet made that go away, everybody can shop online," Creamer said. "I'm not computer savvy so this is why I'm here."
Some do wish we could turn back the time machine to the Black Friday craze.
"I miss the rush," Williams said. "I love it, it just gives back childhood memories of going shopping with my mom and dad so I kind of miss the rush."
"It's kind of 50/50," said Damani Craig, shopper. "I miss it but at the same time I like to get in and get out."
