The Forest Service responded to a 1/2 acre wildfire on the east shore of Lake Tahoe in Montreal Canyon south of US Hwy 50 on Friday.
According to the lake Tahoe Forest Service, the Genoa Fire was reported at 3:26 p.m. and firefighters contained it around 7 p.m.
Bridgeport Helitack firefighters stayed to mop up overnight.
Units with the Lake Tahoe Basin Management, Bridgeport Helitack and a Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest Division Chief assisted, as well.
