JANUARY 29 UPDATE:

The suspect in a shooting at a midtown bar in November that left one dead and four injured was in court on Wednesday.

John Paul Seger is accused of shooting four people at Shea's Tavern, resulting in the death of one of the victims.

The judge granted a continuance to the state at a status conference on Wednesday.

The continuance was because a victim was unable to attend the proceedings.

Seger is expected back in court at the end of April.

NOVEMBER 6 UPDATE:

The defendant in a fatal shooting at a midtown Reno bar was denied bail in a hearing on Wednesday.

The defendant was remanded to the custody of the Washoe County Sheriff.

A mandatory status conference is set for December 18.

The Washoe County coroner has identified the man who died after a shooting in Midtown Reno early Saturday morning. 

The medical examiner says 36-year-old Andrej Kucher died after arriving at Renown Regional Medical Center after police say he was shot in the head at Shea’s Tavern. 

A second man remains in critical condition and two others are also in the hospital with unknown injuries. 

A suspect, 42-year-old John Paul Seger, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Cedar Street.

Seger is charged with open murder, battery with a deadly weapon, conceal carry weapon and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted in connection to the shooting of four victims in Midtown Reno.

Just after midnight on Saturday, November 2, Reno Police responded to 700 South Virginia Street for reports of shots fired in that area.

When officers got to the scene, they found four adults with gunshot wounds and they immediately started providing medical aid.

REMSA rushed all four victims to the hospital. At this time, their conditions are unknown.

Police are still searching for the suspect and this is an active investigation.

The Reno Police Department is asking people to avoid the area of S. Virginia St. from California Avenue to Cheney.

They do believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
