The Growler Guys craft beer restaurant off of Longley Lane is working to keep their business running after some staffing shortages.

Some of those who have relocated and others finding new jobs, ultimately leaving the restaurant short handed.

Casey Wise, the Director of Operations at The Growler Guys restaurant says "So we're starting from scratch."

Monday was their first invitation for people to come by and interview for the craft beer business, even offering people a free post interview beer.

They recently hired two new people who were training today, but they do hope to hire more by the end of the week.

Wise tells us "So we still have quite a few people reaching out, it's just about getting people in the door to maybe get a job now."

While even when closed, the restaurant gets countless customers knocking on the door during the day, asking when the Growler Guys are making their comeback.

Wise mentions "We're hoping to be open maybe as early as next week if we get a few more staff members, otherwise as soon as we possibly can."

She says she thinks the pandemic could have something to do with all the staffing shortages, where as people may not be as comfortable with servings as they once were.

Wise explains "Some people are still not very comfortable being back serving the public and being so close, and I think some people have just relocated or left the industry."

In the meantime during the hiring process, they have a new manager who is moving to the area to run the local Growler Guys craft beer lounge, but they expect the beer to be flowing right when they open their doors.

Michelle Delacruz, the new Beer-tender at The Growler Guys says "People are already walking in and asking if we're open, and people love beer and I think they just want to go back to normal."

Not to mention how eager the new Beer-tenders are to meet each and every customer with a cold craft beer waiting for them.

Austin Rukthavornsakul, another new Beer-tender, The Growler Guys tells us "I'm looking forward to meeting the locals and the people who want to come in here everyday and have a good beer."

And these new additions to the Growler Guys team are no stranger to a well crafted beer, so you can ensure your drink is in good hands.

Delacruz says "I was fortunate to take the cicerone class to be a beer server, and ever since I learned about beer I became fascinated by it."

Wise emphasized they're so excited to be back open, and they really do miss their regular customers.
