According to NV Energy, most people in Washoe Valley have had power restored. About 37 people in the area are still without power.

There are many power outages currently affecting northern Nevada residents.

According to NV Energy, over 5,000 people are without power in southwest Reno.

The two outages in that area started at 5 p.m. and 5:24 p.m.

NV Energy says the cause of the outages is lightning, and power should be restored by 7:30 p.m.

One person in Sparks near Vista Boulevard and Prater Way has had no power since 3:15 p.m.

About 14 people near Meadowood Mall have been experiencing a power outage since 5:15 p.m.

In Washoe Valley, two power outages beginning around 4:45 p.m. have left almost 1,600 people without power. 

The causes for those outages are also under investigation.

One person in the Indian Hills area, south of Carson City, has also been without power since 4 p.m.
