Two suspects from a Tuesday car pursuit in Elko County were captured on Wednesday thanks to a joint effort between the Nevada State Police, the Elko County Sheriff's Office, and members of the Elko Combines SWAT.

The suspects have been identified as a man and a woman. Travis Weatherly from Fort Bragg, California, and 23-year-old Kaylee Covell from Rock Springs, Wyoming.

On Tuesday, Weatherly and Covell were in a stolen vehicle that was reported out of Wyoming. They were located by a Wells deputy and a pursuit was initiated.

Covell drove across a field, across I-80, and then drove through a fence. The car lost a tire and a rim, and was disabled.

The two exited the car and ran out into the desert and hid in the brush near the 337 mile marker of I-80.

Authorities found them the next day and took them into custody.

The initial investigation revealed that Weatherly ran because he had a revoked driver's license, and was driving without an interlock device from a previous DUI.

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a handheld breathalyzer that prevents users from starting their car after drinking alcohol.

Weatherly now has felony charges for possession of a stolen vehicle, destruction of private property, felony eluding a police officer and obstructing.

His bail is set at $201,280.

No information was provided on Covell's charges and bail.
