A winner has been crowned in this year's Makerton competition at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The winning team was the Mathemusicians from TMCC High School for their product C-Kube.

It is a secured storage locker for those experiencing homelessness to store their belongings when they have doctor appointments or interviews.

The University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center is hosting their fourth annual Makerthon.

The event is happening from April 12-14.

The Makerthon competition features seven teams from UNR and local high schools and colleges. 

The teams compete to invent a new product, based on a real-world challenge, in 48 hours. They have to develop, test and produce their products.

After 48 hours, they will present their products to a panel of judges.

The winning team will receive a $2,000 prize.
