The ride to school and back every day is about to get a bit quieter and a lot more fuel efficient for some Washoe County students, with the addition of two new electric school buses to the Washoe County School District's bus fleet.
The district has added two electric busses and charging stations as part of a pilot program to evaluate the integration of electric buses into the fleet.
WCSD received funding from NV Energy and Nevada Department of Environmental Protection Diesel Emissions Reduction Act grants, according to a statement from the district.Â
