The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Winnemucca man on multiple charges including sexual assault and lewdness against children under sixteen.

Other charges include eluding, and grand larceny of a firearm.

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Investigation Division began investigating 28-year-old Brendan Foster, on April 2nd after receiving information that a man had been engaging in sexual activities with girls under the age of 16, after initiating conversations and meet ups with the girls on Snapchat.
 
Further investigation revealed that Foster had used Snapchat to later threaten the girls with substantial bodily harm if they reported the sexual offenses and that he had stolen a handgun from a family member.   
 
On April 6th around 12:15 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff's Deputies stopped Foster on a traffic stop related to the investigation.
 
Although he initially stopped, he ultimately fled from deputies and a pursuit resulted.
 
Foster led deputies into a desert area and abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.  He was found and arrested in West Wendover following a search of the area involving multiple police agencies and other resources.
 
The West Wendover Police Department made the arrest.
 
Foster has been charged with Sexual Assault Against Child Under Sixteen, Lewdness with a Child Under Sixteen (By Person Over 18 Years Old), Stop required upon signal of Peace Officer (Eluding), and Grand Larceny of a firearm with a bail of $260,000.
 
This investigation is still ongoing and no further details are being released at this time.
