The Winnemucca Police Department is warning parents about a kidnapping scam going around.
Multiple parents have received calls saying their child has been kidnapped from school, and they need to go to the school with money.
However, the callers don't have any information about the child, school, or even the town.
If you receive a call like this, you should hang up and contact your child's school to verify their attendance.
